Rev up your engines, or just feast your eyes, at the classic cars, motorcycles, bicycles and boats that you don’t see often anymore.
The Oswego Heritage Council welcomes the community to its annual Collector Car & Classic Boat Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24 at George Rogers Park and Sundaleaf Plaza.
The event features cars built long ago — such as the 1919 Ford Model T, pickup trucks and convertibles from the 1930s — as well as more recent vintages and Oswego Heritage Council Executive Director Kathryn Sinor said to expect more than 100 cars on display. The council is also placing a greater emphasis on vintage motorcycles and bicycles this year, and Sinor expected around 15-to-20 motorcycles to view.
The cars, motorcycles and bikes can be viewed at George Rogers Park while the boats will be available at Sundaleaf Plaza.
“We’re growing the show, making it more interesting and so that people say, ‘Oh that’s a really cool vehicle’ and wanting to learn more about that,” Sinor said.
The council is accepting registrations now and on the day of the show. Sinor said that even though awards are handed out to standout cars and boats, it’s a more relaxed format that makes for a unique experience compared to other car shows. She added that it is fun and infectious to hear from car lovers with vehicles that have interesting stories.
“The thing I hear most is (attendees) appreciate how wide-ranging the vehicles are, that, because it’s a relaxed show, it’s not a show strictly judged like a lot of car shows are, you get a lot of vehicles you wouldn’t otherwise see. That’s what gets people driving back year after year,” she said.
The show also serves as the primary fundraiser for the Oswego Heritage Council, which sifts through vast archives to create historical exhibits, events and reading materials that shed light on the history of Lake Oswego. For more information, visit
“There is something for anyone. If you are interested in classic cars, you can find classic cars. If you are interested in cars that have been completely changed and are 100% unique, you can find one of them,” Sinor said. “And you can talk to people who are extremely passionate about them and are excited to share and tell you a bit about their story and the car’s story, and that’s even more fun than the cars themselves.”
