Arizona Car Week: Where Automotive Passion Meets Community, Culture, and Economic Impact | Arts & Entertainment
Arizona has long been a destination for car lovers, but each January, the state becomes something more — a global gathering point for automotive culture. As Arizona Car Week returns to the Valley January 16–25, 2026, the momentum surrounding this landmark series of events continues to grow, both in scale and significance.
I recently had the opportunity to speak briefly with Darin Roberge, founder of Motorwerks Companies and the driving force behind ArizonaCarWeek.org, about his involvement and vision for Arizona Car Week. That conversation made one thing clear: this is far more than a collection of car shows — it’s an ecosystem.
“Simply put, if you’re an automotive enthusiast of any kind from anywhere in the world, the third week in January in Arizona is one of the most important on the calendar for you. Between auctions, Concours d’Elegance, driving events, car shows, art exhibits, wine tastings, and more, Arizona Car Week this year features more than 40 unique events. With more than half being open to the public and free to attend, it’s also family-friendly. If you love cars, motorcycles, or anything cool on wheels, the Phoenix area is the place to be.”

That accessibility is what sets Arizona Car Week apart. Often referred to as one of the “Big Three” automotive event series in the United States, Arizona Car Week rivals the nation’s most prestigious car gatherings — yet remains refreshingly open, inclusive, and community-centered.
From high-powered exotic caravans rolling through desert highways to elegant Concours displays on manicured lawns, the week celebrates every corner of automotive passion. It also intentionally blends art, design, food, wine, and lifestyle experiences, creating an atmosphere where collectors, families, entrepreneurs, and casual fans can all find their place.
Beyond the spectacle, the economic and cultural impact is undeniable. Arizona Car Week draws hundreds of thousands of visitors from outside the region, generating an economic footprint in the hundreds of millions of dollars for local hotels, restaurants, venues, retailers, and service-based businesses. For many small and mid-sized companies — from restorers and detailers to artists and hospitality professionals — this week is a cornerstone of their annual exposure and growth.
“The cars are fun, but Arizona’s wonderful weather, fabulous people and welcoming business community are the real stars of the show,” Roberge added.
At The Prescott Times Media, we see Arizona Car Week as a perfect reflection of what makes Arizona special: innovation paired with tradition, passion balanced with accessibility, and a business community that understands the power of bringing people together. That’s why we’re excited to get on board and be part of telling this story — not just of cars, but of connection, creativity, and community.
As Arizona Car Week continues to expand across Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Fountain Hills, and beyond, one thing is certain: this is no longer just an event — it’s a defining chapter in Arizona’s cultural and economic identity.
