Members of the lowrider community and others on social media are mourning after a man was killed at his Del City business on Saturday.
LOWRIDER COMMUNITIES RIGHT? YEAH. MANY ARE REMEMBERING THE OWNER OF RAG CITY CUSTOMS, A BODY SHOP HERE IN DEL CITY, AND THE MAN’S NAME IS TONY GANTHER. NOW, JUST OUTSIDE OF HIS SHOP, A MEMORIAL SITS REMEMBERING HIM. HE WAS FOUND BY SOMEONE WHO HAD COME TO THIS LOCATION WHEN OUR OFFICERS ARRIVED. HE WAS PRONOUNCED DECEASED AT THE SCENE. POLICE SAY THIS HAPPENED AT A LOCAL AUTO BODY SHOP, RAG CITY CUSTOMS. HIS BODY WAS FOUND SATURDAY AFTERNOON. NOW POLICE DID NOT RELEASE THE MAN’S NAME, BUT MANY ONLINE SAY IT WAS THE OWNER OF RAG CITY CUSTOMS, TONY GANTHER. OUTSIDE OF THE SHOP, CANDLES, BALLOONS AND FLOWERS ARE OUT IN REMEMBRANCE WITH THE NAME TONY G. ON THE BALLOONS TODAY, A LOCAL LOWRIDER GROUP SENT ME A STATEMENT SAYING GANTHER WAS A HUMBLE INDIVIDUAL, ROOTED DEEP IN OKLAHOMA CITY’S CAR MOVEMENT AND THAT HE KNEW THE MAN THROUGH THE CAR SCENE AND HAD SEVERAL TALKS ABOUT THE SHOP, CUSTOM VEHICLES AND ALL THE WORK THAT WAS GOING INTO HIS NEXT BIG PROJECT. NOW THIS CHAPTER, PRESIDENT OF ROLLERS. ONLY OKC, GOES ON TO SAY THAT IT WAS AN HONOR TO BE HIS FRIEND AND THAT THE CAR COMMUNITY WILL MISS HIM. NOW WE STOPPED BY A CAR CLUB EVENT TODAY IN SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA CITY, AND WHILE THEY DIDN’T WANT TO TALK ON CAMERA, THEY DID SAY THAT SOME OF THE CARS THERE WERE ACTUALLY WORKED ON AT RAG CITY CUSTOMS. NOW, POLICE TOLD US YESTERDAY THAT THEY WERE WORKING SOME LEADS, BUT HAD NOT MADE ANY ARRESTS. AND TODAY WE REACHED OUT TO THEM, BUT WE HAVEN’
