Jones Junction Automotive Group Expands Legacy of Community Investment with $20 Million Gift to Upper Chesapeake Health
Largest gift in hospital history will rebrand and expand services at primary care centers across Harford County
BEL AIR, Md., October 28, 2025–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jones Junction Automotive Group, one of Maryland’s longest-standing and most respected dealership groups, announced that owners Danny and Gail Jones have pledged a $20 million gift to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UCH). The donation, initially committed to the hospital in late 2024, represents the single largest contribution in UCH’s history and is now supporting a multi-year rebranding and expansion of seven primary care centers that will transform healthcare access across the region.
This investment will bring expanded services, shorter wait times, and greater access to care for more than 260,000 Harford County residents. The centers will provide families with essential services such as preventive care, pediatrics, women’s health, chronic disease management, and mental health care. UCH anticipates the expansion will allow for more than 100,000 additional patient visits each year and create dozens of new healthcare jobs in the community.
This donation marks a turning point for the community, with an impact that will continue to expand for those in need of critical services. Recently, the Danny and Gail Jones Primary Care – Bel Air location was moved to a new site in July 2025, situated across from UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. The facility is designed with practical features to allow for an easier patient experience, including straightforward check-in kiosks and accessible parking. It provides a variety of primary care services spanning from physical exams, immunizations, to treatment for ongoing health issues, in a setting that aims to meet the needs of area residents.
“Jones Junction was founded on the belief that our success only matters if we lift up the community around us,” said Danny Jones, CEO of Jones Junction. “This gift reflects the values passed down from my grandfather and continued through every generation of our family leadership—we are here for Harford County. Just as our dealerships have grown alongside this community for more than a century, we must invest in its future health.”
“Danny and Gail have created a business model that proves community investment and business growth go hand in hand,” said Bryan Kilby, President of Jones Junction. “Our employees take pride in knowing they work for a company that reinvests its success in ways that truly matter. This transformational support for healthcare access will make a generational difference for families across Harford County and beyond.”
